Baltimore City Department of Transportation issued the following announcement on April 12.

Road closure is needed for watermain and storm drain installations as work on the Druid Lake Finished Water Tanks Project continues

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of westbound Druid Park Lake Drive will close to through traffic for watermain and storm drain installations, as work on the Druid Lake Finished Water Tanks Project is performed by contractors for the Baltimore City Department of Public Works.

Starting at approximately 9:00 a.m. on or about Monday, April 18, 2022, westbound Druid Park Lake Drive will be closed to through traffic between Sisson Street and Madison Avenue with detours and parking restrictions in effect. This portion of westbound Druid Park Lake Drive is expected to remain closed until approximately 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022.

While this closure is implemented, area ramps to Druid Park Lake Drive will also be closed to through traffic, including:

Druid Park Lake Drive Exit 7A from the northbound Jones Falls Expressway

Druid Park Lake Drive Exit 7 from the southbound Jones Falls Expressway

Druid Park Lake Drive access from 29th Street

Various signs have been placed in the area to alert motorists of the westbound Druid Park Lake Drive closure. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Suggested detour routes:

Motorists traveling north on I-83 / Jones Falls Expressway will be detoured to Exit 6 to North Avenue, right on North Avenue and right on McCulloh Street.

Motorists traveling south on I-83 /Jones Falls Expressway will be detoured to Exit 6 to Mt. Royal Terrace/North Avenue, right on North Avenue and right on McCulloh Street.

Motorists traveling westbound on North Avenue trying to access Druid Park Lake Drive will continue on North Avenue and turn right on McCulloh Street.

Motorists traveling eastbound on North Avenue trying to access Druid Park Lake Drive will be detoured to the W. 28th Street ramp, left on Sisson Street, left on W. 29th Street, then onto I-83 South to Exit 6 Mt. Royal Terrace/North Avenue, right on North Avenue and right on McCulloh Street.

Motorists traveling west on W 29th Street will be detoured onto I-83 South, then to Exit 6 Mt. Royal Terrace/North Avenue, right on North Avenue and right on McCulloh Street.
