Coppin State University’s Khila Morris has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Monday. This marks the first time this season that Morris has received this weekly honor from the MEAC.

Morris, a senior from Bronx, New York, helped lead Coppin State to a win over Delaware State in their conference opener. She recorded career highs with 26 points and 13 rebounds, along with three steals. Morris made 11 of her 23 field goal attempts and converted all three free throws. She also scored the game-winning layup with 6.9 seconds remaining in regulation.

For the current season, Morris is averaging a team-best 12.1 points per game, along with 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.6 steals. She is shooting over 40 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point range. Within the MEAC, she ranks fifth in scoring and sixth in assists while playing a league-high average of 34.7 minutes per game.

Coppin State will host South Carolina State on Thursday, January 8 at 7:00 pm; live video coverage will be available on ESPN+.
