Kweisi Mfume, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 7th district, shared his views and activities through a series of tweets in early March 2025. Known for his engagement in social issues and community development, Mfume has been vocal about various topics.

On March 3, 2025, Mfume commemorated Women’s History Month by highlighting the achievements of two notable women. He stated, “#March is Women’s History Month! Two individuals who represent the groundbreaking achievement of women are Dr. Sandra Ortega and Dr. Valerie Thomas.” He praised Dr. Ortega as the first African American woman commissioned as a U.S. Air Force officer in 1958.

The following day, on March 4, 2025, Mfume expressed his decision to abstain from attending Donald Trump’s address to Congress. In his tweet, he remarked that “I will not be attending and applauding Trump’s address to #Congress tonight.” Instead of attending the address, he chose to participate in the Roland Martin Show alongside other advocates.

On March 5, 2025, Mfume celebrated educational progress at KIPP Baltimore by participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new library. He tweeted about this event saying “This week, I spent time at KIPP Baltimore for the ribbon cutting for their new library.” The congressman emphasized that this facility would help empower students with necessary skills and confidence.
