The Loyola University Maryland women’s track and field team began competition at the 2026 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 15. The team participated in several events, with notable performances in both relay and individual races.
The opening day saw the Loyola 4×800-meter relay team, consisting of Claire Griffin, Claire Dalsass, Stella Mische, and Kat Zysk, finish seventh with a time of 9:11.72. This was the only final that the Greyhounds contested during Friday’s session.
Caroline Blakeslee advanced to Saturday’s final in the 200 meters after running a heat-winning time of 24.48 seconds—marked as the third-fastest in school history and qualifying her as the No. 7 seed for the event’s final. In qualifying rounds for other sprints, Maddie Van Haren ran a wind-aided time of 24.67 seconds to place ninth overall, while Lauryn Clarke finished tenth with a personal best of 24.69 seconds—the ninth-fastest mark ever by a Loyola athlete in this event.
In addition to her performance in the 200 meters, Clarke also ran an impressive race in the 100 meters with a time of 11.95 seconds—the seventh-fastest on Friday and tenth fastest all-time at Loyola—but did not advance due to heat placement rules. Gabby Snowden achieved a personal-best mark of 12.12 seconds for twelfth place; this ranks as third fastest among women who have competed for Loyola.
Other notable results included Nelly Cruz finishing just one-hundredth of a second off her own school record with a ninth-place qualifying run (14.54) in the 100 hurdles; Lauren Gerow recording a personal-best (64.93) for thirteenth place among qualifiers in the 400 hurdles; and Zoe Keefe along with Meghan Leonard placing seventeenth and eighteenth respectively in their heats for the women’s 800 meters.
Competition at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will conclude Saturday afternoon when racing resumes shortly after noon.
