Loyola University Maryland men’s lacrosse team earned a share of the Patriot League Regular-Season title after defeating Navy 13-12 in the league’s regular-season finale on April 24 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The win marks Loyola’s first share of the conference regular-season championship since 2019 and secures them the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Patriot League Championships. The Greyhounds will play their semifinal game at Army West Point on Friday, May 1, facing either Boston University or Lehigh.

Kenan Everhart scored with just over two minutes left to give Loyola a late lead, while Max Watkinson made a crucial save with seven seconds remaining to preserve the victory. “Wilbur threw to Everhart in the middle, and he went low-to-low for his third goal of the game,” according to Loyola’s report. Wilbur finished with a career-high four assists, and Mason Cook led scoring for Loyola with four goals. Brady Quinn added three goals, tying his career high.

The match saw several momentum shifts. After building a four-goal lead late in the third quarter, Loyola watched as Navy responded with a run that tied the score at 12-12 midway through the fourth quarter. Watkinson made key saves down the stretch—including one against Jack Nichtern—and helped hold off Navy’s final attempts.

With this result, Loyola advances into postseason play aiming for further success in tournament competition.
