Loyola University Maryland men’s lacrosse will travel to Lafayette College for a Patriot League game scheduled at noon on Saturday, April 11, in Easton, Pennsylvania.
The upcoming contest is important as Loyola looks to continue its strong performance in conference play. The Greyhounds are currently second in the Patriot League for scoring during league games and have relied heavily on their starting attack trio—Mason Cook, Kenan Everhart, and Matthew Minicus—who have contributed more than two-thirds of the team’s goals this season.
Head Coach Charley Toomey is leading the team in his 21st season. Under his guidance, Loyola has built a notable record at Ridley Athletic Complex and holds a historical advantage over Lafayette with a 13-1 all-time lead. However, Lafayette claimed its first win against Loyola last season after scoring late and holding off the Greyhounds for an 11-10 victory.
In their most recent game, Loyola defeated Boston University 19-11 after jumping out to an early lead. Mason Cook scored six goals while Minicus added five goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Max Watkinson recorded a season-high 17 saves.
Cook continues to be one of the top offensive players nationally with multiple hat tricks this year and leads both the league and NCAA Division I in several categories including goals per game. Minicus recently moved into ninth place on Loyola’s all-time points list with over 100 career goals. Everhart has also emerged as a key contributor following injuries earlier in his college career.
The match will be available for streaming live on ESPN+. After facing Lafayette, Loyola returns home to host Army West Point before finishing regular-season play against Navy.
