Loyola University Maryland’s men’s and women’s tennis teams faced Colgate in a doubleheader at McClure Tennis Center on April 11, with the men winning 4–3 and the women falling 5–2.

The matches were part of Patriot League play. The results reflect both teams’ ongoing efforts to compete strongly within their conference.

In the men’s match, Loyola secured the doubles point after Nick Lawliss and Ryan Gill won at No. 1 doubles, and Petter Hagen and Louis Moldenhauer won at No. 2. In singles play, Hagen delivered a straight-set victory at No. 1, Gill rallied for a comeback win at No. 3, and Lawliss added another point with his win at No. 5. Colgate picked up points through Aidan Lee (No. 2), Tim Vargas (No. 4), and Parker McGowen (No. 6). Loyola clinched its fourth team point before Colgate could complete its late push.

For the women’s team, Christine Richiez and Emma Roeck earned a doubles win at No.1 but Colgate took the overall doubles point by winning on courts two and three. In singles action, Victoria Epps made a comeback to win her match at No.4 while Liza Tankimovich won in straight sets at No.6 for Loyola’s two points of the day.

Colgate secured four singles victories to claim the match: Amelia Galin (No.1), Sophia Montero (No.2), Rebecca Hess (No.3), and Sasha Herman (No.5) all posted wins for the visitors.

Despite falling short in total points on the women’s side, Loyola players competed closely in several three-set matches, showing determination throughout their lineup.
