Loyola Greyhounds women’s lacrosse team will host Boston University for the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Sunday, April 25. The teams previously met this season, with Loyola winning 13-8 at Ridley.
The matchup marks the start of Loyola’s postseason campaign. The Greyhounds used a strong mid-game run in their earlier meeting against Boston and have seen standout performances from sophomore players Morgan Quade and Lauren Perfetto. Quade leads the team with 34 assists and 59 points, while Perfetto is second in assists and third in points.
Mae Murphy has taken over draw control duties this year, recording 215 draws through 17 games and breaking multiple records for Division I, Loyola, and the Patriot League as a freshman. Head coach Jen Adams is leading her eighteenth season with the program; since the start of the 2022 season, Loyola has compiled a record of 79-21 that includes five NCAA Tournament wins. Adams achieved her milestone 250th career win against Colgate.
Three Greyhounds—Elisa Faklaris, Cydney Lisk, and Mim Suares-Jury—were named to the Patriot League All-Preseason Team. Murphy was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week five times this season and Defensive Player of the Week once; Faklaris was recognized as Midfielder of the Week after a seven-point performance early in the year.
Boston enters as sixth seed following a loss to Holy Cross. Tessa Geddes leads Boston with 42 goals and 50 points; Elle Stevenson follows with goals scored while Avery Cutair leads in assists. Kaitlyn Barton tops their draw controls this season with Natalie Aiosa starting every game as goalkeeper.
The Greyhounds are coming off their seventh straight NCAA Tournament appearance (excluding 2020), reaching at least one tournament win in six out of those trips but falling to Stony Brook last year in round one. Looking ahead, Loyola aims to continue its postseason success led by experienced seniors who have contributed significantly over four years.
