Loyola Greyhounds women’s lacrosse will host Colgate on April 12 for Senior Day at Ridley, marking the teams’ fifteenth meeting. Loyola has won all previous matchups against Colgate, consistently holding the Raiders to single-digit goals in recent years.
The game highlights a successful season for Loyola, which has seen standout performances from several players. Senior Elisa Faklaris leads the team with 33 goals and a .559 shooting percentage. Mae Murphy has set new records in draw controls as a freshman, breaking both Loyola and Patriot League single-season marks with 170 draws through 14 games.
Head coach Jen Adams is in her eighteenth season and is one win away from reaching her 250th career victory. Under Adams’ leadership since the start of the 2022 season, Loyola has compiled a record of 77-20 and achieved five NCAA Tournament wins.
This year, three Greyhounds—Faklaris, Cydney Lisk, and Mim Suares-Jury—were named to the Patriot League All-Preseason Team. Murphy earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors three times and was also recognized as Defensive Player of the Week last week. Faklaris received Midfielder of the Week honors during Week 3 after scoring seven points.
Loyola’s senior class will be honored following Saturday’s game. Over their four years at Loyola, they have posted a combined record of 59-18 overall and an impressive conference record of 32-1 in Patriot League play. The seniors have reached the NCAA Tournament each year and contributed significantly throughout their careers.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s opponent, Colgate enters with a season record of five wins and six losses (3-2 in conference). Aubrey McMahon leads Colgate with forty-two goals this season while ranking eighth nationally in goals per game.
