The Patriot League announced on Apr. 27 that six Loyola University Maryland women’s lacrosse players have been selected for the league’s end-of-year awards and All-Patriot League teams.
The announcement highlights the achievements of Mae Murphy, who was named Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the First Team All-Patriot League. Murphy is joined on the first team by Morgan Quade and Mim Suares-Jury, while Lauren Perfetto, Elisa Faklaris, and Cydney Lisk were each named to the second team.
Murphy became Loyola’s first Rookie of the Year since 2022. She leads all Division I players with 225 draw controls this season, breaking both school and national records for draws by a freshman. According to the release, “Murphy has recorded double-digit draw controls in all but three games this season,” including a season-best 19 against Colgate. She has also contributed seven ground balls and eleven caused turnovers.
Quade earned her first All-Patriot League selection after leading Loyola with 38 assists and 65 points this season. The release states that “Quade has four games with at least six points over her last seven games,” including a career-high seven points against Bucknell. Suares-Jury made her debut on the first team after being on last year’s second team; she tallied 32 goals, 20 assists, and played an important role in transition play.
Perfetto received her first career nod after ranking second on the team in assists (29) along with scoring at least one point in every game this season. Faklaris led Loyola with forty-two goals while topping the league in shooting percentage (.560), earning her second all-league honor. Lisk anchored Loyola’s defense as captain, helping secure their fourth-ranked scoring defense in conference play while contributing fifteen ground balls and eleven caused turnovers.
The recognition reflects individual excellence as well as strong overall performance by Loyola’s women’s lacrosse program during this campaign.
