American Visionary Art Museum issued the following announcement on June 20.
The yarn painting "Protection" by Francisco Loza typifies his work on themes of immigration and family. His art also incorporates his experiences with Huichol communities of Central Mexico where he has collaborated with Huichol shamans and artisans for over 20 years. This October, we open "Parenting: An Art without a Manual," which will share the story of Family worldwide, especially the millions fleeing a country that does not afford them a safe and livable existence. #WorldRefugeeDay http://avam.org/exhibitions/parenting-an-art-without-a-manual.shtml
