B & O RAILROAD MUSEUM: Train Ride & Restoration Shop Tour

B & O Railroad Museum issued the following announcement on June 19.

June 2004, the B&O Railroad Museum broke ground to build its new state-of-the-art locomotive and rolling stock restoration shop. Restoration Shop is open a few times a year for public tours.

Take the Mile One Express train ride for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum's state-of-the-art restoration facility constructed in 2005 to restore and maintain the museum's locomotive and rolling stock collection. This guided tour is an up-close and personal look at the shop including the machinery used in the restoration process and a peek at some of the "Iron Horses" currently being maintained and restored. Duration of the tour is one hour with an additional 15 minutes for the train ride to and from the restoration shop. Space is limited to a maximum of 25 people. The following two dates are available for restoration tours:

Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Train ride tickets are non-refundable and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are available for purchase on-site at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore or in advance by calling the Museum Store at 410-752-2462 x 213.

Train rides are subject to change or cancellation without notice and are not guaranteed with your visit. Train schedules vary during special events and the holiday season. For more information or to find out if a train ride will be offered during your visit, please call 410-752-2490.
