Kennedy Krieger Institute issued the following announcement.
Did you know - in 2016 there were approximately 44 million immigrants estimated to be living in the U.S. with almost 45% having reported Hispanic or Latino origins. For these families, the risk for and complexity of trauma exposure is threaded throughout the immigration experience both in their home country, during their travels and assimilation.
Join our Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress as they explore "The Complexity of Trauma: Considerations for Working with the Latino Immigrant Family." This half-day workshop for clinicians and service providers will examine the prevalence of forms of trauma experienced by immigrant Latino children and families throughout their immigration experiences while emphasizing the importance of incorporating Latino cultural values into treatment.
Pre-registration required.
