Maryland Historical Society Museum issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
For those involved with Girl Scouts programs, we have a special program Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. where Girl Scouts can fulfill badge requirements. Living history interpreter, Scotti Preston, will immerse Girl Scouts in the traditions of African American folktales. Scouts will examine the power of words and imagination while learning how slaves used storytelling as a connection to their cultural heritage and to communicate their hopes and fears. Children who are not Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate as well. Cost is $15 per child and advanced registration is required:https://hubs.ly/H0dZ_wf0
