Baltimore home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Baltimore rose by $10,673 while total sales increased by 60.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 2,248 homes sold, with a median sale price of $129,900 - a 9% increase over the $119,227 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 1,403 homes sold in Baltimore in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Baltimore for 2018 was $2,487. In 2017, the median sales tax was $2,463. This marks an increase of 1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.9%.
