Anne Arundel County Board-Edu issued the following announcement on Feb. 28.

The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County is scheduled to vote on schematic design documents for three replacement elementary schools at its next meeting, scheduled for March 4, 2020.

The design documents for Rippling Woods, Quarterfield, and Hillsmere elementary schools are the next step in the process that, provided funding remains in place, will result in new educational facilities capable of supporting more than 1,800 students by the fall of 2023. The Board will have another opportunity to review the documents as the process moves forward before bids are awarded for construction.

At the meeting, the Board will also review again a new policy on Board Ethics and Professional Standards. The Board’s Policy Committee examined the policy at its meeting last month.

The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis. The Board will meet in a public session at 8:30 a.m. for the sole purpose of voting to immediately go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public. The public session of the meeting will resume at 10 a.m.
