Yvonne Wai, chief sales officer of Winnitex, recently said that the company is working to improve its textile supply chain.

The American Apparel and Footwear Association’s (AAFA) 2022 Global Supply Chain and Trade Conference took place May 24-25 at Under Armour’s headquarters in Baltimore. Members of the apparel, footwear and fashion retail industries gathered to discuss topics including the supply chain, customs, trade, sourcing and logistics. Government officials as well as industry professionals discussed ways to improve the supply chain ecosystem.

According to a press release, U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai was the keynote speaker at the event. She serves as a member of the Biden administration’s cabinet and is the principal trade advisor, negotiator and spokesman on U.S. trade policy.

Wai was present at the event to discus trade policy and textile supply chains.

“Winnitex is central to a textile supply chain ecosystem that benefits consumers throughout the world,” Wai said, according to the press release. “It’s valuable to spend time hearing from industry experts and government officials working to improve that ecosystem. We want to know how we can do our part.”

The AAFA was founded in 2000 and its board is comprised of executives from PVH, Goldbug, Inc., Under Armour, Lululemon, Athletica and BBC International.

Founded in 1964 and based in Hong Kong, Winnitex employs more than 3,000 people across the world. Wai has served as Winnitex’s chief sales officer since 2008, overseeing marketing and sales.
