Cost of college went up for all students at Loyola University Maryland

Tuition and fees rose 2.4 percent for 2017-18 at Loyola University Maryland, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Maryland students paid $47,560 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $1,130 more than the $46,430 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 86 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 853 students received grants or scholarships totaling $22.96 million and 599 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.36 million.

Including all undergraduates, 3,032 students used grants or scholarships totaling $78.37 million. Another 2,147 took out $14.7 million in federal student loans.
