According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Contol and Prevention: One in four Americans over age 65 falls, each year.
Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room, and every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall.
Annually, falls are the leading cause of fatal injury and the most common cause of nonfatal trauma-related hospital admissions among older adults.
The complications associated with a fall of you or a loved one can be devastating.
Please join us as Physical Therapists Michael Wah and Joseph Palmer discuss how you can literally take steps now to avoid falls, while improving your balance and mobility. Learn how you can continue to be active and get the most out of your golden years.
Cost: $20 per person for dinner and lecture; $10 for GBMC Volunteers; FREE for members of the Yaggy Society
