UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND MEDICAL CENTER: Department of Social Work celebrated 100 years

Celebration

University of Maryland Medical Center issued the following announcement on March 23.

The Department of Social Work celebrated 100 years of service to the Baltimore Community and beyond, at A Century of Helping Hands networking event. Dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Maryland Baltimore, Richard Barth, MSW, Ph.D., joined the celebration to discuss the past and look toward the future of Social Work. Lynn Paltrow, J.D., founder and Executive Director of the National Advocates for Pregnant Women, was also in attendance, speaking on the need to advocate for pregnant women in healthcare.

In just the last three years, the number of social workers at UMMC has doubled. We are proud and honored to work alongside these healthcare professionals!
