Cost of college went up for all students at Loyola University Maryland

Tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at Loyola University Maryland, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Maryland students paid $48,920 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,360 more than the $47,560 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 911 students received grants or scholarships totaling $23 million and 569 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,645), 3,320 students used grants or scholarships totaling $88.6 million, and 2,090 students took out $14 million in federal student loans.
