Baltimore City Department of Transportation issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.
The right curb lane will be used for parking in front of The Sun Building at 501 N. Calvert
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that heavy traffic conditions are expected along portions of N. Calvert Street and Guilford Avenue starting on Monday, October 25, 2021.
Motorists should be advised that heavy traffic is expected in the area surrounding 501 N. Calvert Street (including but not limited to E. Centre Street, Guilford Avenue and Bath Street) starting on Monday, October 25, 2021 from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Heavy traffic in this area is expected daily during these times until further notice.
In addition, the right curb lane along 501 N. Calvert Street, which is currently used as a dedicated right turn lane for E. Centre Street, will be converted to a parking lane, and the peak-hour parking restrictions along this portion of Calvert Street will be temporarily removed. The removal of the dedicated turn lane, along with heavy traffic in this vicinity may cause traffic congestion and delays.
The Department of Transportation will deploy Transportation Enforcement Officers (TEOs) at key intersections to help facilitate the movement of traffic. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should plan ahead by allowing additional travel time and using alternate routes.
