How did home valuation prices perform in City of Baltimore during second half of 2024?

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2024 in City of Baltimore rose by $22,000, while total sales decreased by 3.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2024, 6,100 homes were sold in the city, with a median sale price of $165,000. This is a 15.4% increase over the $143,000 median sale price during the same period in 2023, when there were 6,332 homes sold.

Based on the latest available data from 2022, the median sales tax in City of Baltimore was $2,612, which stands at 1.6% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2024.

The U.S. housing market has surged in recent years, with its total value approaching $50 trillion in 2024—nearly five times its value in 2000.

“The value of America’s housing market will likely cross the $50 trillion threshold in the next 12 months as there are not enough homes being listed to push prices down,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao.
