On June 3, 2025, Kweisi Mfume expressed satisfaction with the establishment of a new memorial in Annapolis dedicated to the late Congressman Parren Mitchell. He noted that this site offers people in Maryland an opportunity to "reflect on the meaning of the late Congressman Parren Mitchell’s life and deeds of service for decades to come." On June 5, 2025, Mfume criticized actions by MAGA Republicans who blocked a subpoena issued by Oversight Democrats seeking answers from Elon Musk. He argued that this blockage is another example of how his colleagues obstruct commonsense oversight efforts. He emphasized that "The American people deserve truth and transparency when it comes to the work of the Department." Later on June 5, Mfume shared his experience hosting third-grade students from Mr. Sann’s class at Glenmount Elementary/Middle School during their visit to Capitol Hill. This interaction followed letters from these students expressing eagerness to learn more about government operations.
