Gov. Larry Hogan has announced awards for affordable rental housing for 21 projects across the state, totaling more than $47 million in state and federal funding and $94 million in private sector capital.
Gov. Lary Hogan issued an executive order in 2016 directing schools to delay the start of the school year until after Labor Day and to end before June 15. Hogan had said he made the order in the hopes of protecting the traditional end of summer.
A poll published earlier this month found that most Maryland educators are paying for school supplies out of their own pockets, despite the fact that nearly half of them are in debt and paying back student loans.
