62 percent of applicants to Maryland Institute College of Art were admitted for fall 2017

At Maryland Institute College of Art, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 75 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Baltimore enrolled 2,128 students in fall 2017, including 1,749 in undergraduate and 379 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

16 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 58 percent are residents of other states. 26 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (41 percent) and Asian (11 percent).

The school admitted 62 percent of the 3,636 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 19 percent enrolled.
