38 percent of applicants to Coppin State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Coppin State University, 59 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 78 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Baltimore enrolled 2,738 students in fall 2018, including 2,362 in undergraduate and 376 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

75 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 21 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (81 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (3 percent).

The school admitted 38 percent of the 6,156 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 17 percent enrolled.
