BALTIMORE CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Adolescent & Adult Booster Update 9/4/22

The CDC authorized a new version of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines to be given as booster doses. These vaccines are targeted to the Omicron variants that are spreading the most right now. If you want to be the most protected against COVID-19 this fall and winter season, please get your booster of this new vaccine!

.

.

.

Who can receive a booster dose of the new vaccine?

Anyone ages 12 and up who has completed their primary COVID-19 vaccine series (either 1 dose of J&J or 2 doses of Moderna, Pfizer, or Novavax) can receive the new booster. If you are between 12-17 years of age you can receive the new Pfizer booster; if you are 18 or older you can receive either Pfizer or Moderna as your booster.

.

.

.

How long do I have to wait to get a booster of the new vaccine?

You can get a booster dose 2 months after your last dose of vaccine, regardless if that last dose was your 2nd dose or any booster dose.

More information about all COVID-19 vaccines can be found on the CDC’s website.
