Kweisi Mfume, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 7th District, shared several messages over the past few days addressing various topics ranging from postal services to holiday celebrations. Mfume, who has served in Congress since 2020 and has a history in the Maryland House of Representatives, continues to be vocal about issues affecting his constituents.
On April 10, 2025, Mfume stood in solidarity with the National Association of Postal Supervisors to send a message to notable figures like Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Mfume declared that “Americans’ mail is not for sale,” emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the postal system
On April 11, 2025, Mfume extended greetings to those celebrating Passover. He wished "Chag Pesach Sameach" to Jewish individuals as they prepared to gather for the Seder table, commemorating the “Festival of Freedom.”
The following day, April 12, 2025, Mfume recognized the commencement of Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday, and offered wishes for a peaceful and pleasant observance as Christians reflect on their faith.
Mfume, 74, is a Baltimore native and an alumnus of Morgan State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. Since replacing Elijah Cummings in 2020, he has been an active political figure in matters concerning Maryland and beyond.
